TIMES REPORTER LEAVES FOR OPPORTUNITY IN CANADA

Julie Teer is off to Canada to join the Globe and Mail newsroom as a federal reporter. Teer has covered the Globe and Mail for the past five years.

Teer joined the national newsroom in 2013 and quickly rose through the ranks to bureau chief of the Ottawa bureau. In that role, she played a key role in Globe and Mail’s coverage of the prostitution law and assisted dying legislation.

Teer was also involved in finding a solution to the summer food shortage that Ottawa experienced in 2015 and filing the article about Simon Crevier that is the first, and only, front-page article in Canada’s history on the age of consent. She earned recognition as a finalist for the Pundit Tipster award in 2014.

Teer graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations, with a specialty in journalism and public relations.
