Legendary dancer Travis Wall fired from Breaking the Floor tour after sexual harassment allegations

(CNN) — Travis Wall, the superstar dancer and co-creator of the breakout hit Break the Floor, has been removed from Break the Floor’s current tour after allegations were reported in the New York Post about sexual harassment and intimidation.

CNN has reached out to Wall’s rep for comment.

The story reported that 19 women were interviewed by the Post, some of whom said Wall propositioned them for sex and forced them to perform unwanted massages.

Several stars of the show, including fellow choreographer Quiana Canaday, have also been removed from the tour.

“We hope the reporting will shine a light on the dangers of sexual harassment in the dance community,” Break the Floor posted on Facebook. “We also hope that it will allow the dance community to take a step forward in its progression towards ensuring a safer and more inclusive environment for all.”

The Post also reported that one of the dancers said she asked for a vacation from Wall after he rubbed up against her so forcefully that she became violently ill. In response, he went and attempted to commit suicide, she said.

The Break the Floor tour began its run in Detroit on September 14. It will be extended but the performances won’t be suspended.
