In police video, mother and daughters engage in sex act while baby sleeps

As we reported Tuesday, a woman was arrested at her Annapolis home while her daughter was inside — along with another woman and child — when police and prosecutors said the two engaged in a sex act in a hallway.

Suspect Katherine Heine and the other two were charged with obscenity.

In a video exclusive obtained by The Washington Post, police show Heine removing the diapers and other practical belongings from her 6-month-old daughter.

Heine then sits in the cruiser as the officer walks her from the door to a backyard. Heine turns to the others — Pamela and Joan Ducharme — and says, “You know that baby’s in there. And she’s asleep. And if you did this to my baby, then I would just hurt you.”

The officer asks him to stay quiet, and Heine tells him “just mumble” and “blush,” then tries to make noises through the police car door.

Heine tells the officer to turn the camera off, and the officer does, before she continues to play with the baby.

Heine said after she was charged with committing a lewd act in a public place, Ducharme accused her of ditching the child at her house, so she sent a text to the officer telling him to drive to her house so that they could pick up the baby.

Heine also said that when police began to arrive, she walked out of the house and threw the 6-month-old down the stairs. She told them that if they left, she would kill herself.

Police said the items that the women were found with — including 4.6 grams of heroin and a digital scale that tested positive for heroin residue — belonged to Ducharme, who also faces charges.

We reported that Heine asked to be let into her house, and the Ducharmes allowed her. Heine and Ducharme were not allowed entry because they did not have permission. According to charging documents, Heine told police they both had the baby, but Ducharme denies that.

Ducharme and Heine, who is separated, are due in court Aug. 4 for a bail review hearing.
